For virtual environments, we check the compatibility of the matrix functions with the platform. The design also includes switches and bandwidth so that fast drives are not limited by the network.
Redundant elements and appropriate disk configuration help maintain operation after part of the equipment is damaged. Snapshots can help you return to an earlier state, but they are not a stand-alone backup strategy. We separately determine the location of backup storage, administrator access and restoration procedures. Thanks to this, a matrix failure does not mean the loss of the only version of data.
The capacity plan takes into account data growth, media replacement time and device expansion options. We compare the costs of disks, manufacturer support and additional licenses. If some of the data may go to the cloud or archive, we set rules for such division. You know which resources are for ongoing work and which are for long-term storage.

No. RAID helps with some disk failures, but does not protect against file deletions, application errors, or data encryption. We plan backup separately.
We will check its parameters, support status and expansion possibilities. Sometimes it is enough to change the configuration or use an older device for less demanding tasks.
From the type of media, load, controllers, configuration and network. Therefore, we compare the behavior of the entire path from the application to the data, not just the parameters of a single disk.
